Discover the Traditional Thai Games Featured This Month

If you have ever wondered how Thai children entertained themselves before smartphones and video games, this month's lineup will give you a fascinating, hands-on look. Here are the core traditional activities you can witness and participate in

  • Lao Krathop Mai (The Bamboo Clapping Dance): Featured during the weekly Best Fest Deal shows, this is a rhythmic, high-energy folk dance where participants hop between fast-clapping bamboo poles. Visitors are warmly welcomed to join the performers on stage to try this fun test of timing and agility!
  • Tuk-toon Toy Sen (Token Tossing): A nostalgic street game loved by generations of Thai children. Players meticulously toss small toy figurines or tokens toward a target line, combining strategy, precision, and physics.
  • Mak Keb (Traditional Thai Jacks): A game that tests lightning-fast reflexes and hand-eye coordination. In this month's special edition, you will get to see a modernized version requiring incredible speed and focus.

The Main Highlight: Heroes Battle Phuket 2026: Heritage of Andaman

The crown jewel of July's festivities is undoubtedly the Heroes Battle Phuket: Heritage of Andaman tournament, happening on July 18 – 19 from 08:00 AM to 06:30 PM.

First-Ever Applied Traditional Thai Games Tournament

This is the first-ever applied traditional Thai games tournament in Phuket! Heroes Battle Phuket is a fierce, high-stakes competition bringing together 32 elite youth teams from 29 schools across the province. These young athletes will battle it out to be crowned the ultimate "Andaman Hero" and win a coveted spot to represent Phuket in the national championship.

Spectators will get to cheer on two main intense challenges: the tactical Tuk-toon Toy Sen tournament and the high-speed Grog-Grag Mak Keb Speed Challenge.

A Star-Studded Cultural Festival

Beyond the intense youth sports action, the two-day event will be packed with entertainment from legendary Thai artists, hosts, and digital creators who are coming to add color and hype to the arena

  • Keng Tachaya: The famous Thai singer known for blending traditional Thai music with modern pop/rock styles.
  • DJ Plakung: The high-energy entertainer and beloved host.
  • Tua Yung PLEARn DEE & P'Kree Grog-Grag: Famous influencers.
  • Kunti merman: Popular lifestyle creator.
  • Pa X Atakito’s Shop: Tuk-toon Toy Sen guru from the famous Thai cultural TV program Khun Phra Chuay.

Backing up the tournament is a panel of professional, certified judges from Skill Exchange to ensure world-class tournament standards.
